Dr. Mayuri Ghule – An inquisitive mind and passion for learning leads this dentist into the goldmine domains of Data Analysis, Health informatics and Public Health

Hello everyone, let me take you back to the beginning of my BDS journey.

As a passionate youngster, it was ingrained in my mind that I should grow up to be a doctor. My motivation to contribute to society had of helped me be qualified to become a dental surgeon. The BDS journey was an incredible ride that taught me so much and helped me become a strong person.

As soon as I had my BDS, I began working as an associate dentist for one of my mentors. For me, the satisfaction of relieving a patient's pain always gave me an adrenaline rush. I gained a lot of knowledge, starting with the stark contrast between the university and private practice and continuing through the development of effective patient treatment.

Even though it was a successful career, my mind always sought new information and I tried to improve my skills. I consequently accepted a position as a medical data analyst at a company. This change allowed me to develop in numerous ways. I felt more stable, had higher technical proficiency, and gained confidence.

In my role as a data analyst, I nearly accumulated three years of experience. I wished to immerse myself further in this area of study. Portals into the large field of public health have been opened as a result. The highest highlight in my career so far—and I know it won't be the last—was being accepted into collaborative public health course in S.D. Gupta School of Public Health and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Since I'm pursuing a career in public health, I want to become an expert in data analysis and health informatics. After that, I want to work for a research organisation that conducts cancer research. I have a dream of working in the field of healthcare databases and health management information systems. I want to work on tobacco control initiatives, regulations, etc.

Self-complexity never aids in personal growth, so try to occasionally let yourself go.

I understand that failing to find a fulfilling career soon after graduation causes us to doubt a lot, but it's not the end of the world! Never let your commitment and hard work be affected by these things. Believe me, these things are only transitory.

Now, coming to the point of highly competitive fields, every field has competition. Good things will not come to us in ready-made, decorated plates; there will always be struggles.

When I entered the field of public health, I learned that dentists are highly qualified to perform any type of administrative as well as many other roles. They are among the most accountable medical specialists.
