1Can you start by taking us back to your early education days? How did you join BDS, and how was the BDS journey for you?
When I was in standard 11, my brother joined a dental school. Fascinated by the way he was doing some prosthodontic work, I was drawn into the field of dentistry. With the sole aim of becoming a dentist, I worked hard and with divine blessings I stepped into a reputed dental college in Chennai.
With dreams and aspirations on one side, I struggled with the dental practical work which once fascinated me. But with constant practice I could manage to complete my work decently.
2Take us through your career path after BDS? How did you reach the point where you are today?
Subjects like Oral pathology and Oral medicine were my forte and right after my BDS, I aimed to do post-graduation in Oral medicine.
With God’s grace I cracked the entrance and joined my Alma Matter again for post-graduation in Oral medicine.
The joy of helping patients to be relieved of pain and suffering inspired me to excel well in my subject.
Also helping my dental colleagues in unravelling the mysterious pathologies through imaging makes my work more special and interesting.
Above all guiding and inspiring the budding dentists, enjoying all their fun-filled pranks and motivating them to reach their potential add more meaning to my life.
3What message do you have for budding young dentists at crossroads as they read this? Many are worried about their future career prospects as the field is becoming highly competitive and challenging.

Passion in my subject leads me to get updated, keeps me active in research and thrusts me to shoulder greater responsibilities
