The youngest teacher guiding and leading me in my professional journey is Dr. John smith MDS in Public Health Dentistry. He did his under graduation at JKKN Dental College and his post-graduation in Coorg Institute of Dental science. Currently, he is practising his own clinic ‘ ABINU’ in Salem and he had worked as a Senior Lecturer in Vivekananda dental college,Tiruchengode.
In general, public health dentistry is a vast and quite hard subject to learn and understand. But every time, he made it easy. It inspired me greatly to become a teacher like him. It just had a great impact on my career to be more focused on the dental profession and he made me confident in writing my examination. The way he makes us learn was joyful. I always appreciate the length he goes in teaching a complicated lesson into a simple one. He always sparks the desire to find the answer to questions.
Dr. John smith sir always used to be perfect and his lessons were engaging. He was always patient and encourages everyone to try and especially encourages me a lot in getting up.
Whenever I am not good at my examination, he always used to say to stay like a ‘DOUBLE EDGED SWORD’. In public health dentistry fluoride is called as double-edged sword. Decreased fluoride level increases the risk of caries and increased fluoride levels increase the risk of fluorosis.Likewise, he used to say
“Balance your life like Flouride. If there is something so low in your life (character, knowledge)it is not good for your life and if there is something high enough in your life, your progression should not stop there. You have to balance things in your life”
Sir, I am always thankful and forever grateful to be your student. You Planted some seeds in our heart, that will definitely grow and bear good fruits. The way you teach, the knowledge you share, the care you take, the love you share make you the world’s best teacher. you are a gift to any student. Your influence as a teacher can never be erased.Thank you for awakening joy in creative learning
“A truly amazing teacher is hard to find , difficult to part with and impossible to forget”
